  • Types of Massage
  • Swedish massage

  • Swedish massage is the most common type of massage. Swedish massage combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots, called adhesions. Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on what the therapist wants to achieve.

  • Deep Tissue Massage

  • Deep Tissue Massage which is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is also not uncommon for receivers of Deep Tissue Massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly. What one calls deep tissue another will call light. When receiving deep tissue work it is important to communicate what you are feeling.

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Lymphatic Drainage which is a holistic approach to promoting a healthy lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a complex network of vessels and ducts that move fluid throughout the body and is responsible for moving toxins away from healthy cells and carrying germ-fighting materials to cells when they are under attack by viruses. Though fluid moves through the lymphatic system, it does not have its own pumping mechanism. Lymphatic Drainage is a type of therapy that is intended to help the body produce a free-flowing lymphatic system.

  • Pre-Natal and post-natal Massage

  • Pre-Natal Massage which is massage therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother’s needs as well as post delivery aches and pain.

  • Scar Tissue Massage

  • Scar Tissue Massage which helps get rid of scar tissue and adhesions that occur as a result of injury, surgery, or repetitive motion.
